Introducing Subaru’s New Dark Horse – The 2013 Subaru BRZ
The first ever front-engine, rear-drive sports car with a SUBARU BOXER® engine.
Providing serious feedback for the driver, the all-new BRZ combines impeccable Subaru engineering with a whole lot of fun behind the wheel. Lightweight and fuel-efficient, the nimble BRZ is intuitively smart and stylish. In short, every element of this impressively agile sports car was designed to deliver an exhilarating driving experience. Choose from BRZ Premium and BRZ Limited.
For immediate handling response, Subaru engineered the 2013 BRZ to send its power to the rear wheels. Vehicle Stability Control automatically senses steering and braking inputs to help deliver even more stability. A compact, symmetrical drivetrain design gives the BRZ optimal balance and one of the lowest centers of gravity in its class. And, as if all this were not enough, the BRZ is the world’s only front-engine, rear-drive sports car powered by a SUBARU BOXER® engine.
From Automatic Climate Control to Keyless Access and Start, the all-new BRZ was designed for comfort. A Voice-activated GPS navigation system, Bluetooth® hands-free phone and audio, and a USB port with iPod® control provide the ultimate in driver convenience. And an 8-speaker audio system with an in-dash CD player, MP3 playback capability, and XM® Satellite Radio deliver a rich sound experience. The BRZ also features a luxurious standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather wrapped-shift knob. Limited models feature leather-trimmed upholstery with Alcantara® seat inserts.
Sporty and sleek, the 2013 BRZ is quick, responsive, and incredibly fuel-efficient at 34 miles per gallon. The unique SUBARU BOXER® engine drives the rear wheels through a choice of two six-speed transmissions, one a manual, the other a conventional automatic with manual activation via steering wheel-mounted paddles. In true sports car style, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels give better, more precise wheel control, and High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights provide maximum visibility in a variety of hazardous road conditions.
Smart Safety Systems
The 2013 BRZ takes safety seriously with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that prevents wheel lock-up and helps maintain driver control. An Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) balances braking, while Brake Assist can sense a panic-stop situation and applies full braking force to help the vehicle stop faster. The BRZ also comes standard with an SRS Airbag System featuring a total of six airbags. For added security, the BRZ features an engine immobilizer that keeps the vehicle from starting without an authorized key or token, and the BRZ Limited includes an anti-theft security system.
